and this love song is for no one at all...

We both were searching out cool water and so we walked together,
And talked about the next day's work, and how we liked the weather.
Walking by your side it seemed would surely be a boon,
For I was shaded in the morning, and you in afternoon.
When in the shade we each could see but in the light you squinted,
Seeing only as a pair at night when moon was lifted.

And when our prize at last we spied you whimpered as a child,
for in between the here and there did scream a chasm wild.
We heard a river miles below, and went our separate ways,
For always searching, never finding makes for lonely days.
The day's bright light upon your face, your eyes were small and shifted,
Seeing only as a pair at night when moon was lifted.
